Love Filled

Today marks the first day of my personal project. I'm still figuring out what I want to do and how to organize it but here are a few images from it. Can anyone figure it out?

Midnight Red

After all this time, I am finally ready to show you guys what I have been working on this summer. It may still need some slight editing, but take a look!

Weekend Of Rest

This was the first weekend in at least a month that I've had the chance to do completely nothing. The most relaxed I've been in such a long time, although I have a lot to catch up on this week. Looking forward to getting back to photographing regularly and my trip to northern California!

OC Fair

Last year I missed out going to the OC Fair because I was in Rochester, NY for the summer taking freshman photography classes. I was in Rochester staring at all of the photos of my friends at the fair and I was so upset. I have a love affair with the fair. This year I was lucky enough to attend and spent time with my amazing friends and even more amazing food (such as a Pink's hot dog, a cherry icee, deep fried mac n cheese balls, a mountain of curly fries and finished it off with some deep fried oreos)!

Simon And Not Garfunkel

The DAWG Fundraiser continues! I photographed Simon and Oliver together and apart. They weren't the easiest models to work with, but I also recently had minor surgery to remove a possibly cancerous mole. This happened last Saturday, but ever since I haven't been able to move around as easily. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get quite at "dog level" to get my ideal shot. Nevertheless, it is for charity and was still a fun time.

Wireless Routers To Making Connections

I had the opportunity to go with my dad to a meeting that discussed wireless routers and what the new standards are. I love understanding technology, although this topic didn't exactly excite me. However, my dad wanted to introduce me to a man who used to work for a photo magazine (is all the information he had). I went to the meeting and had the pleasure of meeting George Margolin, who was a photographer and now invents a lot of cool items. He even gave me one of his inventions that he's giving out to press to see what people think of it. It was such a great time, and I loved meeting him. I can't wait to try out his invention and blog about it!

Day Off Is On

I spent my day off doing a ton of things. I am getting ready to leave soon for a rehearsal dinner and a wedding so, as a girl, I need two new dresses and some shoes to go with my outfits. Then I spent a lovely evening with my father that I will describe tomorrow. Remember to relax and enjoy your days off!

Everyday Is Longer

Barry's Bootcamp is where I spent my day. It is definitely an intense workout, which I gathered from only filming a small part of the workout. In all honesty, my internship with Time Warner Cable has been the best thing that has ever happened. This opportunity is just so amazing, and I get to work with a great group of people. I also get introduced to a ton of inspiring people with stories that touch my heart. I am sad that it is coming to an end, but there is still so much to do! Working on my package and will let you know when it is ready to be viewed!

Assisted on a shoot for two amazing artists today at Swing House Studios. They will be featured on SoCalBeat, check it out if you have Time Warner Cable! As for now, I am headed off to bed but I hopeeeee to have new photos soon!

Scarred

My pressure bandage came off today so I can breathe a little easier. My scar is an inch and a half long and definitely a sight to see. After all of this pain and dealing with being worn out, I get to deliver a book I made for a client. Remember Baby Blue?

Skin Deep

Although I am only supposed to work Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, the past 3 weeks I have been working an extra day, which has been extremely fun and worth it. However, this week on Wednesday I had a bunch of appointments, photographed for my DAWG fundraiser and celebrated a friend's 21st birthday. I worked on Friday this week at the amazing Mystery Skulls summer concert at Warner Bros Records and so I was looking forward to a relaxing day off. That, sadly, I did not find. A few weeks ago I had a mole removed and it came back that it had possible cancer cells. Today I had to have the edges of the mole removed as well as the underneath of it removed. I now have a lovely (it is really not) one inch scar and the pain that comes along with that. I will hopefully have a nice relaxing Sunday Funday tomorrow, but you will just have to stay tuned to see what actually happens. Don't forget to check out your moles and skin and always wear sunscreen!!!

Late Night

One of the greatest days of my internship was today. Being able to go onto the Warner Bros Record lot, interview an up and coming (and amazing) artist Mystery Skulls and then tape/ watch him preform live. There are no words. I met some great people, had a fabulous time and now I get to relax this weekend. Tomorrow I will be having surgery to remove a possible cancerous mole so I couldn't ask for a better day like today to keep my mind off of it and spirits high. Although, I do need to focus more time on editing my packages, editing my photos and concentrating on my own personal photograph stories. After all this time I thought I didn't like video, now it is taking all my time away from still photographs. So much to do next week too, starting to feel overwhelmed and stressed! I can't believe summer is coming to an end. To catch a photo from the Mystery Skulls performance, check out my instagram alysshunter or socalbeattwc for more information about musical shoots that I've been assisting on.

Sad Robot

Today I worked in LA helping one of my coworkers with her hosting segments and then went back to the office to work on my package for my internship. I love being busy and having stuff to do, however I am becoming more and more exhausted. On the bright side, one of my coworkers requested that I go on a shoot with him. It is all work it and makes me feel fantastic and validated. Getting recognized makes everything worthwhile. Now back to working on the package..

Oso The Great

Today is the first day I am photographing a dog for my DAWG fundraiser! It is also a good friend's 21st birthday. Therefore, I am running late (which NEVER happens). So much to do..

Reel Work For The Real World

My internship at Time Warner Cable is consuming my summer in the best possible way. I am able to video tape content that ends up being on television, which is my first time seeing my work on television. It is one of the coolest things I have ever gotten to do. When accepted this internship, it was so I wouldn't be behind when I went back to RIT in the fall. I wanted to learn how to use video and how to edit. I didn't really care for video in the beginning of the summer. After seeing all of the shoots and my work on TV, my attitude as completely changed. I am currently working on finishing up my scripts for Midnight Red, a boy band, and the Velodrome, a cycling track where the public and Olympians train. I can't wait to start putting together the video with my script! Here's a snippet of my scripts.

Picture Less Monday

I woke up feeling "bleh". I have been sick for the past few days, and I believe that the hours I'm working and the medication I have been taking have been making me extremely tired. Therefore, this will be a short post and hopefully I will be feeling better soon and snapping away in the near future!

Musically Inclined

Last night I downloaded a lot of new upbeat music. I was going to photograph an event near my home, but it didn't turn out the way I wanted it to. Instead, I decided to drive around and observe my town and the people. I didn't really photograph much, but just found happiness in driving and music. It was a very therapeutic and much needed day, especially after working so hard this past week.

Working For The Weekend

After working in LA this morning, I spent some time in my backyard with my lovely pup, Dexter Morgan (yes, he is named after Dexter, the TV show/ serial killer). Having a camera with me makes me notice the little things that I normally would bypass.

Mornings With Sam

A morning is always well spent when you are with good company. I spent this morning with my friend Sam teaching her how to use her canon camera. She caught on very quickly and snapped a few photos of me for my website, which will be relaunched very soon! It is always fun to relax and shoot for fun or to help others. It was also my first time using my new lens, the 24-70mm 2.8, which I am in love with!

Time To Grow Up

A family friend's daughter is about to turn 13. This may just be another birthday to some, but in the Jewish culture it is an important birthday. She is about to become a woman in the eyes of the temple. It breaks my heart that I won't be able to be there for her at Bat Mitzvah in November because I will still be in Rochester, NY at school. Her mother told me that Haley, the soon to be woman, wanted to have a Mitzvah Project, where she would raise money for a charity. She picked Operation Homefront, a charity that gives school supplies to children of the military whose parents can't afford to buy them new supplies. The garage sale was the first step in this project and then next step, which I am hoping I'll be able to photograph, will be to drop off the money she raised to Operation Homefront. She really is turning into quite the young lady.
