Moving Day

My Uncle is moving from his home in West Lake Village to Irvine, California. Now that he is retired, he feels that it is time that he moves closer to his sister and his son. His wife and dog are both on board with the move and are excited to sell the house. My mother is the real estate agent and discovered that she can't use a camera as well as she thought. I was then recruited to photograph their home when I came back from Rochester and these are a few of the images.

Home

Having spent the past year in Rochester, New York attending Rochester Institute of Technology, it is really nice to be back home in Mission Viejo, California. When I was packing up my apartment in Rochester, I was excited for my summer back home. I had an interview for Time Warner Cable as an intern for their lifestyle videos they are shooting. I was hoping I would get the internship because being a photojournalist, video is a large portion of the major. I also had acquired a small internship for Patch, an online newsletter about my city, which I was excited about. I would be photographing news and events as well as editing the pictures. The summer was looking great. Then I flew home..

It has been about a week since I've been home from college. I had my interview with Time Warner Cable, and I was offered the internship on the spot! It was my dream internship, and now I can't wait to start, learn and be able to produce the high quality work that they are putting out. It is an amazing opportunity, and I am so excited!
As for the Patch internship, they have had a hard time getting back to me. I was getting frustrated with the whole thing when I checked my email. I had an offer, without an interview, for an internship with the Orange County Register! I immediately accepted the internship and said goodbye to Patch. It was some of the greatest news I have ever received.

I am enjoying the last few weeks I have before both of my full time internships begin. I will be going up to San Francisco to photograph and celebrate a good friend's bridal shower. I am hopefully going to have time to volunteer at Westie Rescue because I love dogs so much. I know this summer will be exhausting and full of hard work, but I can't wait to learn everything I can from both companies and make great friends as well as connections!
